Something Old Is Something New

Hi Friends.  This is the first post of my new blog Gammie Daycare.  The name is self-explanatory - I'm a first-time grandma, and I provide full five-day a week care for my 20-month-old grandson, whom I will refer to as "B".

I am so enjoying planning and implementing a healthy, and enticing learning environment for B. I am a retired high school/middle school English teacher, and it was quite a leap to deal with a baby, then toddler.  I am learning so much, but also am able to apply much of what I have learned throughout the 39 years of my teaching career. Thank goodness for bloggers, Pinterest and You Tube to spark some appropriate ideas and activities!

Since I have benefitted so much from you, I thought I would share what I am doing with B, in hopes some other new grandparent or young mom or even a daycare provider might find a helpful nugget or two to use with their little ones.

I look forward to sharing with you how my "old teaching life" is transforming into something wonderful, exciting, and new.
